YORK — Alexa Rosenau of York will take her volleyball career to the next level as she committed to play for Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Neb.
In her senior year, Rosenau led the Dukes with 188 kills and 284 digs. She also served at a 93 percent clip, recorded 33 service aces and defensively had 27 ace blocks. For her efforts, Rosenau was named to the York News-Times All Area Team and honorable mention by the Omaha World-Herald among other honors.

YORK — Tonight’s volleyball triangular at York High School will be a Pink Out to raise money in the battle against breast cancer.
Proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.

YORK - Even though the York Dukes had very little trouble in winning the opening set 25-15, it was the comeback and eventual win in the second set that silenced the Central City Bison.
York had all the momentum, but the second set opened with a 7-1 Central City run that seemed to change the direction of the match, at least for a short time.

COLUMBUS — Despite putting itself into position, the Scotus Central Catholic Shamrocks couldn’t give the Seward Bluejays their first blemish of the season Saturday, falling 31-29, 20-25, 15-25 in the championship round of the Second Annual Columbus Volleyball Classic.
Bluejay hitters Katie Hughes and Emily Cady proved to be too much for the Shamrock defense.

That was the thinking of the Lakeview volleyball team for — at the least — Tuesday against York. After losing the first set 24-26, the Viqueens took control of the match in winning 25-13, 25-16, 25-15 to get over the .500 mark on the season at 3-2.
