Fort Kearny Conference All-Stars defeat LouPlatte All-Stars in finals in Minden|

MINDEN - The LouPlatte Conference All-Star volleyball team was slightly shorthanded on Thursday night at the New West All-Star Classic to benefit the Nebraska Kidney Association in Minden.
It didn't phase the LouPlatte All-Stars in their 25-11, 25-20. 25-15 victory over the Southwest All-Stars in the first game.
However, the lack of depth caught up with the LouPlatte Conference team of Cassie Donlinger and Mariah Reicks of Kearney Catholic, Taylor Hand of Ravenna, Angie Bowers of Wood River, Chelsea Caruso and Makenzie Mudloff of St. Paul and Brook Henry of Loup City as the Fort Kearny Conference All-Stars won the championship in three sets in the best-of-three format.
New West All-Star Classic for Nebraska Kidney Association to be played June 9 in MindenThe New West All-Star Classic benefiting the Nebraska Kidney Association will be held on June 9 starting at 5 p.m. at Minden.

LOOMIS — Molly Weissert towed the back line and served the final 10 points for Elwood in Set 1 of the Pirates’ 25-12, 25-10 victory over S-E-M Monday at the Fort Kearny Conference Volleyball Tournament.
“The key was just keeping our serves in,” Elwood coach Codina Shutz said about what was integral in the win.
Wilcox-Hildreth defeats LitchfieldWILCOX — Jana Wilson powered the Wilcox-Hildreth volleyball team with five ace serves and 12 assists to secure a 25-12, 25-22, 25-15 victory over Litchfield at home.
Morgan Farley had five kills for Wilcox-Hildreth. Miranda Paitz, Shelby Aspegren and Michaela Hinrichs each had four kills.
Wilcox-Hildreth falls to Alma in straight-setsWILCOX — Alma swept Wilcox-Hildreth 25-22, 25-15, 25-18 Tuesday in Wilcox.
Michaela Hinrichs tallied 10 kills, while Morgan Farley had eight kills and Jana Wilson had 19 set assists for Wilcox-Hildreth.

Elwood goes 2-0 at S-E-M triangularElwood went 2-0 at the S-E-M triangular Thursday.
Elwood defeated Wilcox Hildreth 22-25, 25-20, 25-21 and S-E-M 25-16, 25-17. S-E-M defeated W-H 25-23, 15-25, 25-19 in the other match.

Molly Weissert’s 14 kills and two ace blocks paced Elwood. Sami Ferguson added 11 kills, and Rachel Mahlberg had four kills and three ace serves for the Pirates.
