WEEPING WATER – Weeping Water and Conestoga volleyball teams both competed in the Weeping Water Boosters Invite Saturday. Weeping Water won two of three matches and finished in second place. Conestoga played in three matches in the tournament.

LOUISVILLE – Cass County students were named to All-East Central Nebraska Conference volleyball teams earlier this week during a meeting of league athletic directors and coaches.
Four Elmwood-Murdock players, three Louisville athletes, three Weeping Water players and two Conestoga athletes were named to either first-team, second-team, third-team or honorable mention squads. Elmwood-Murdock junior Megan Schmale and Louisville junior Natalie Minchow were both on the first team and Elmwood-Murdock senior Erika Stubbendeck was on the second team. Weeping Water senior Kylee Schreiner was a third-team selection.

MURDOCK – Elmwood-Murdock weathered an early challenge from Weeping Water to win an intracounty showdown on the volleyball court Thursday night.
The Knights outlasted Weeping Water 25-22 in game one and won the next two games 25-15, 25-16 to improve their season record to 6-7. Megan Schmale collected a match-high 13 kills and Erika Stubbendeck added seven kills, nine digs and three ace blocks to help the team pick up the victory.

WEEPING WATER – An inexperienced Weeping Water volleyball team spent much of last season learning the skills it would need to compete at the varsity level.
The Indians hope to apply those lessons this fall to earn winning grades in the conference and regional volleyball classrooms.
