One week of the 2011 season is down and there were quite a few big matches right out of the gate that help to reshape the NebVolleyball/Jones Insurance Agency, Inc. Rankings for each classification.

Games to Watch the Week of Sept. 5, 2011.

HASTINGS — Grand Island Northwest middle Karny Kuehl helped lead the North All-Stars to a victory over the South All-Stars 25-18, 25-21, 24-26, 25-18 Thursday night in the third annual Hastings Tribune Volleyball Classic at Hastings College’s Lynn Farrell Arena.
The Nebraska Wesleyan-bound Kuehl tallied a match-high 13 kills while also adding three ace blocks and an assist to help lead her team of all-stars to the win.

Grand Island Senior High’s Allison Arnold posted 11 kills and four blocks as the two middles helped control the net for the North
All-Stars.

Kearney Catholic’s Kayla James finished with 26 assists while Heartland setter Miranda Driewer posted 19 assists.

HASTINGS - The third annual Tribune Volleyball Classic will be Thursday, June 16 at 7 p.m. at Hastings College’s Lynn Farrell Arena. The match will pit the North All-Stars against the South All-Stars.

BEATRICE - The rosters have been released for the All-Star Volleyball game at Southeast Community College's Truman Gymnasium on June 17 at 6 p.m..

SUTTON, DAVID CITY - First year Sutton head coach Joey Amerine and longtime David City High coach Connie Lentz have both submitted their resignations to their respective school boards.

Two of the Tribland’s best volleyball players have made their decisions as to where they’re going to be continuing their volleyball careers in college.

Tribland player of the year Cody Long of Thayer Central and two-time first team all-Tribland selection Claire Bergen of Sutton have both signed to continue their careers next fall at Nebraska Wesleyan.

HASTINGS - Hastings College has announced several members of its Class of 2011 recruiting class.

According to Hasting College Head Coach Lori Willadsen, the 2011 class includes:
