Southern Nebraska Conference Tournament to be held Oct. 25, 26, 29Click to view bracket of tournament
Thayer Central earned the top seed for the Southern Nebraska Conference Tournament, which gets underway on Oct. 25.
The Titans will face the winner of the Tri County (No. 8) and Cross County (No. 9) match at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 in Hebron.
Cross County wins against SuperiorSTROMSBURG — Cross County defeated visiting Superior (11-9) 25-20, 25-20, 25-22.
Whitney Brooke led the Cougars (12-6) with 13 kills and four ace serves, while Kelly Wright had 15 points and seven ace serves.

Alma starts 1-1 at Sandy Creek InviteAlma 2, Don.-Trumbull 0
GLENVIL - Alma got off on the right foot at the Sandy Creek Invitational, defeating Doniphan Trumbull 25-10, 25-11 in the first round.
Lauren Waggoner had eight kills and Amanda Wells added five as Alma evened its record at 2-2. Rachel Asche added three blocks and Andrea Ehrke set for 11 kills.
Wagner resigns at PleasantonPLEASANTON - Pleasanton will be seeking a new volleyball coach after J.J. Wagner resigned.

Doniphan-Trumbull loses to Superior, KenesawSUPERIOR — Doniphan-Trumbull dropped two matches at the Superior Triangular. The Cardinals (0-6) lost the opening match to Kenesaw 24-26, 25-17, 25-21, and then were downed by host Superior 25-14, 23-25, 25-10.
Molly Gruener led the Cards with 10 kills against Kenesaw, while Jena Schlatz and Emily Lienemann added seven. Jordie Pfeiffer tallied 15 set assists and Taylor Hadenfeldt added 12.
Doniphan-Trumbull showed good balance at the net against Superior as Molly Gruener and Teresa Royston led the way with four kills, followed closely by Jena Schlatz and Tori Katzberg with three. Taylor Hadenfeldt had 33 digs.
