Elwood, Overton, Axtell, Elm Creek advance to Fort Kearny Conference Tournament semifinalsClick to view story in Kearney Hub
LOOMIS — Molly Weissert towed the back line and served the final 10 points for Elwood in Set 1 of the Pirates’ 25-12, 25-10 victory over S-E-M Monday at the Fort Kearny Conference Volleyball Tournament.
“The key was just keeping our serves in,” Elwood coach Codina Shutz said about what was integral in the win.
Axtell defeats Overton, S-E-MAXTELL - Axtell picked up a pair of victories at its home triangular on Tuesday.
Axtell defeated Overton 25-10, 16-25, 25-15 and then downed S-E-M 25-19, 25-12.

Litchfield goes 1-2 over weekendCallaway 2, Litchfield 0
CALLAWAY - Callaway took a 25-18, 25-16 win over Litchfield in the Seven Valleys Tournament Saturday in Callaway.
Hope Downer had three kills for Litchfield, while Tonya Siegel, Megan Prunk and Taylor Pickar had one block each. Siegel, Kelsey Unick and Tiana Stithem had one ace serve apiece.

Elwood defeated Wilcox Hildreth 22-25, 25-20, 25-21 and S-E-M 25-16, 25-17. S-E-M defeated W-H 25-23, 15-25, 25-19 in the other match.

Molly Weissert’s 14 kills and two ace blocks paced Elwood. Sami Ferguson added 11 kills, and Rachel Mahlberg had four kills and three ace serves for the Pirates.
Loomis Memorial Tournament - Shelton places firstHampton 2, Eustis-Farnam 0
LOOMIS - Hampton defeated Eustis-Farnam 25-17, 25-20 in the first round of the Loomis Memorial Tournament.
Adie Nielsen had three ace serves and Stacy Johnson had two ace serves and four assists for Eustis-Farnam.
