POLK — The Bulldogs blocked their way to a pair of victories Tuesday at a triangular in Polk.
The Lindsay Holy Family volleyball team racked up a total of 50 blocks in wins over High Plains and St. Edward. The Bulldogs defeated the Storm 25-19, 25-18 and downed the Beavers 25-19, 24-26, 25-15. High Plains defeated St. Edward 22-25, 25-13, 25-16 in the other match.

ANSLEY — Kara Ostrand (18) and Siera Rohde (16) combined for 34 service points to lead undefeated Ansley to a 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 victory over Elba/North Loup-Scotia (0-3).
Rohde led the Warriors (6-0) with 11 kills and five ace blocks.

ST. EDWARD — The Beavers came away with a win, but are looking to improve.
Thursday, the St. Edward volleyball team defeated Santee in straight sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-13. Still, the squad expects more, and felt it played timid in the match.

PALMER — The St. Edward volleyball team started things off right Thursday, going 2-0 at a quadrangular in Palmer. The Beavers opened with a 25-16, 25-18 win over Heartland Lutheran, before beating host Palmer 25-21, 25-18.
Against Heartland Lutheran, Allison Merrell had six kills to lead St. Edward. Devon Rasmussen had six assists, while Shelby Stultz and Brenna Carlstrom each had four ace serves.
Shelby/Rising City sweeps St. EdwardST. EDWARD — The Shelby/Rising City volleyball team made quick work of St. Edward, winning 25-6, 25-9, 25-9 Thursday.
Lindsay Coffin had 11 digs and five ace serves for the Huskies, while Maddie Scow had five kills. Kiley Samek added 10 assists and Jessica Nekl had six ace serves.
Shelby plays Saturday in the Dodge Round Robin Tournament and opens with Concordia. St. Edward is off until Tuesday, where the Beavers play in a triangular at Humphrey with Class D-2, No. 7 Dodge and the Bulldogs.

Things didn’t go quite according to plan for the Heartland Lutheran Red Hornets, as they came up short in their double triangular.
St. Edward took the opening match against Heartland 25-10, 25-23, then Nebraska Christian outlasted the Red Hornets in the evening’s final match, taking a 25-18, 20-25, 25-19 victory.
Burwell defeats St. Edward in four sets for first victoryBURWELL — Burwell rallied from a one-set deficit to post a 19-25, 25-11, 25-10, 25-17 victory over visiting St. Edward.
The Longhorns (1-2) were led by Megan Nelson with 22 service points, Rochelle Plock with 14 service aces, Miranda Maxson with 29 set assists and Katie McClintick with 10 kills.
