SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. - Morgan Hansen had 19 kills and four ace serves, but her South Sioux City Cardinals fell to Vermillion in four sets (25-19, 21-25, 25-17, 25-22) on Thursday in their season opener.

Julia Hartnett dished out 15 assists and Jordan Buttermore led the Cardinals (0-1) with 21 digs and four ace serves. Emily Wilmes added nine kills for SSC, which faces West High next Thursday.
