Wahoo Neumann volleyball opponents were well aware of Alyssa Stanek's power as a hitter, but her versatility helped the Cavaliers succeed.
"Alyssa is a great athlete that just wants her team to have success even if all eyes are on her," Neumann coach Shelly Hagemann said. "She would find other ways of putting the ball away in the front row like tipping to the open spot or a roll shot to the corners to keep defenses off-balance. Every team was keying on the hard hit so she just changed her tempo and made the defense move."

Scibner-Snyder falls to North Bend in five setsClick to view story on Fremont Tribune
The Scribner-Snyder volleyball team dropped a five-set thriller to North Bend Central Tuesday.
NBC won 25-10, 20-25, 23-25, 27-25, 15-9.
Piper leads Scribner-Synder of sweep of MeadScribner-Snyder swept Mead 25-19, 25-11, 25-9 on Thursday in high school volleyball.
Kelsey Piper paced Scribner-Snyder with 14 kills, eight digs and three aces. Autumn Schulenberg and Stephanie Wegner each recorded six kills while Taylor Smeal had five.
Lauren Schnoor compiled 27 assists for Scribner-Snyder (12-8). Schulenberg racked up nine aces to go along with seven digs. Smeal and Emily Dostal had five digs apiece.
Scriber-Snyder splits games, sits at 6-5 on seasonThe Scribner-Snyder High School volleyball team split two games at their own triangular on Saturday.
The Lady Trojans opened with a 25-10, 25-21 win over Pender before falling to West Point Central Catholic 15-25, 26-24, 25-16.
Clarkson beats Scribner-Snyder in four setsClarkson defeated the Scribner-Snyder volleyball team in four sets Tuesday.
The Red Devils won 25-23, 20-25, 25-17, 25-21.
Howells sweeps Scibner-SnyderClick to view story in Fremont Tribune
HOWELLS - The Howells volleyball team defeated Scribner-Snyder 25-17, 25-18, 25-22 Thursday.
Megan Chebuhar led Howells with nine kills and five blocks. Katee Rocheford had 13 set assists and Ashley Bazata ended with 24 digs.
Lyons-Decatur sweeps Scribner-SnyderLyons-Decatur swept the Scribner-Snyder volleyball team Tuesday.
L-D won 25-17, 25-13, 25-18.
“The girls tried pretty hard in this game but things did not go our way,” S-S coach Candi Cronin said. “We know what we need to work on before Thursday’s games.”
