Omaha Wave 16 Reign earns bid in 16 Open at Northern Lights QualifierThe Omaha Wave 16 Reign earned a bid to the USAV Girls National Championships by placing 4th out of 22 teams in the 16 Open division at the Northern Lights Qualifier April 15-17.

Many Nebraska teams will be in competition at the second big national qualifying tournament this weekend in Kansas City.
Three bids to the USAV Nationals are up for grabs in the open divisions, while two will be awarded in the club division and one in the 12 club tournament.

Oklahoma Peak Performance 18 Smack wins 18 Club Division at Asics Presidents Day ClassicOMAHA - The Oklahoma Peak Performance 18 Smack team went 9-0 to win the 18 Club Division of the Asics Presidents Day Classic Tournament held at the Qwest Center.
Smack lost just one set to Iowa Rockets 18 Black, but won that match 25- 21, 24-26, 17-15. In the tournament on Feb. 21, Smack defeated Iowa Ice 18-1 25-22, 25-16, Hutch Area Elite 18-1 25-19, 25-19 and in the championship defeated Mizuno Northern Lights 182 25-20, 25-14.
The Nebraska Elite 18 Lasers were 13th with a 7-2 record. The Lasers won the Silver Bracket Tournament with a 25-17, 25-15 win over Premier 18 Black, 25-22, 25-16 win over Denver 18-1 and 25-23, 25-22 win over Topeka Elite 18-1.

OMAHA - The Nebraska Elite Who Dat 18s team came into the 2011 Asics President's Day Tournament unbeaten on the season.
Despite suffering its first loss 12-25, 25-17, 16-14 of the season to IPVA 18 Black in pool play, Who Dat emerged as the 18 Open Tournament champions with an 8-1 record.
"I think that we really pulled together and played at a very high level to end the tournament," Who Dat head coach Nick Schuster said. "We were able to learn a lot about this group and what we are capable of in our first true multi-day event. It was a good measuring stick for us and showed us some areas where we need to improve upon as we move forward into qualifier season.
