Gradoville Tournament to be held at Bryan on Friday and SaturdayThe Phil Gradoville Invitational at Omaha Bryan High School wil be played Friday and Saturday.
Plattsmouth, Bellevue West Omaha Burke and Omaha Northwest will be in Pool A. Omaha Benson, Omaha Bryan, Omaha North and Omaha South will be in Pool B. Admission will be $6 for adults and $4 for students.

PLATTSMOUTH – Experience trumped inexperience Tuesday night in Plattsmouth’s first home volleyball match of the season against Gretna.
Five Dragons delivered five or more kills and the fifth-ranked Dragons had six aces in a 25-12, 25-13, 25-12 victory. Outside hitters Elaine Kramer and Rian Kirby both had six kills and Payton Samuelson and Madi Sutton both hit five kills. Natalie Mickelson added six kills and one ace to help Gretna improve to 5-0. Plattsmouth fell to 2-4.
USA Beach Volleyball tournament held in OmahaOMAHA - The 2011 USA Beach Volleyball Junior Tour took place June 4-5 in Omaha, NE. Winners were crowned in 4 divisions. U18 division winners Kayla Haneline of Nebraska City’s Lourdes Central Catholic (University of Northern Iowa verbal commitment) and Brittany Prescott of Omaha Central (Graceland University) took the time to answer a few questions about playing sand volleyball.

Plattsmouth drops pair of matches to Bears, TrojansClick to view story on Plattsmouth Journal
PLATTEVIEW – Plattsmouth’s volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Omaha Bryan and Platteview in a triangular at Platteview Tuesday night.
The Blue Devils lost to Omaha Bryan 25-16, 26-24 in the evening’s first match. Hannah Halvorsen led PHS with eight assists and five aces and Mandy Kuss had 11 digs. Heather Bogner made a team-high six kills and two ace blocks. Omaha Bryan improved its record to 12-15.

PLATTSMOUTH – Six-foot-1 freshman Olivia Boender blasted 22 kills and 6-0 senior Amanda Boender posted six kills and two aces to lead Waverly past Plattsmouth 25-20, 25-16, 25-18 Tuesday night.
Waverly improved to 10-7. The Blue Devils fell to 6-10.

OMAHA - Plattsmouth came home from this weekend's Phil Gradoville Volleyball Invite at Omaha Bryan High School with a pair of victories over Class A opponents.
Plattsmouth began its tournament Friday afternoon with a 25-23, 25-12 victory over Omaha North. The Blue Devils built a 16-11 lead on consecutive kills by Heather Scholl but saw that edge evaporate to a 22-22 tie. Ericka Spangler's kill gave PHS a 24-23 lead and Katy Linder served up an assist to Lindsey Fiegenschuh for the winning kill on game point.
