Shelton defeats OvertonClick to view story on Kearney Hub.
AMHERST - Shelton put D1 No. 10 Overton on its heels from the opening point in a 25-10, 25-12 win at the Amherst Triangular Tuesday in Amherst.
The Bulldogs (22-4) started the game on a 12-1 run with Overton's lone point coming on a Shelton net violation. Kalyn Brannagan and Maggie Urbanek landed two ace serves each and Tracy Meyer added two ace blocks during the run. The Bulldogs earned their biggest lead at 21-4 when Brannagan landed her second kill of Game 1 off an Urbanek assist.

Oct. 17 RankingsIt’s conference tournament time across the state with quite a few already having been completed last week, many more this week and the final ones next week. Conference Tournaments will affect the rankings in all division as many of the top teams likely will face each other. PLEASANTON - Axtell's streak of reaching its seventh straight Fort Kearny Conference Tournament final was in jeopardy.
Down a set to Loomis, the Class D2 No. 7-rated Wildcats needed a lift and found one in Hailey Kring.
NebVolleyball/Jones Insurance Agency Inc. Oct. 3 Rankings Papillion-LaVista swept Class B's new top team Lincoln Pius X in in the finals of the Lincoln Northeast Tournament, while former Class B No. 1 Gretna was defeated for the first time this season. Earlier last week, Kearney Catholic was defeated by Grand Island Central Catholic, switching up the rankings in C1. D1 BDS lost to Class C2 Blue Hill, but remains atop in D1 as does Bertrand in D2 and Lutheran High Northeast in C2 in this week’s Oct. 3 NebVolleyball/Jones Insurance Agency, Inc. Rankings for each classification.

LOOMIS- Bertrand shut down Overton Tuesday night at the Loomis Invitational to give the previously undefeated Eagles their first loss of the season 25-17, 25-13.
Bertrand (9-1) took a 5-2 lead and didn't let up, as senior Haley Samuelson distributed the ball the to six hitters, accumulating 13 assists in the first set.

Overton picks up historic win over LoomisClick to view story on Lexington Clipper-Herald
GIBBON – The Overton Lady Eagles volleyball team encountered a stampede of buffalo Thursday night at the Gibbon triangular.
Buffaloes that were dressed in blue and white, plus in blue and gold.
Long-time rival Elm Creek began the stampede on the Eagles, as the previously-ranked Buffaloes took control from the opening serve, defeating Overton in straight sets 25-18, 25-16.
