President's Day Tournament set to kickoff Saturday morning at CenturyLink CenterClick to download President's Day Preview Magazine.
OMAHA - The ninth annual Asics President's Day Tournament is set to begin on Saturday morning at the CenturyLink Century and Nebraska Elite Sports and Fitness Complex.
More than 4,000 girls from all over the United States are expected to participate this year, said Tony Carrow, who is the director of the tournament.
Omaha Wave 16 Reign earns bid in 16 Open at Northern Lights QualifierThe Omaha Wave 16 Reign earned a bid to the USAV Girls National Championships by placing 4th out of 22 teams in the 16 Open division at the Northern Lights Qualifier April 15-17.

Premier 15 Gold places third in 15 Open Division at President's Day ClassicOMAHA - The Premier 15 Gold dropped their first 15 Open match of the Asics Presidents Day Classic 25-23, 25-21 to KC Power 15-1 before winning six matches in a row, including four in the third set to advance to the semifinals of the Gold Bracket of the Tournament.
Here Premier Gold was defeated 25-19, 25-21 by eventual champion Asics Mavs 15-Blue.
Members of Premier 15 Gold include Sydney O'Shaughnessy, Alissa Schovanec, Alli Molczyk, Nikki Ohlinger, Anna Reed, Taylor Holz, Natalie Mickelson, Isabella Siciunas, Kelsey O'Connell, Hannah Sieckmann.
Omaha Wave 16 Reign finishes second in 16 Open DivisionOMAHA - The Omaha Wave 16 Reign fell just short of winning the 16 Open Division at the Asics President's Day Classic on Feb. 19-21 at the Qwest Center.
Reign went 5-1 in pool play with the lone loss coming against Colorado Jrs Kaepa 16Peer 25-17, 26-24. Then in the tournament, Reign defeated Iowa Rockets 16R 25-6, 25-22, Ozark Juniors 161 25-17, 25-18 and Central Iowa Select 16M 25-14, 25-8 before losing 25-22, 23-25, 15-9 to Triangle 16 Black in the final.
Team members are Alexa Johnson, Maggie Heim, Brittany Cech, Paige Tenski, Tahlyr Banks, Payton Horacek, Madison Pflug, Leanna Willer, Amanda Gordon, Taylor Burbage and Capris Quaites.
Nebraska Impact Select Banzai places second in 17 Club Division at Asics Presidents Day ClassicOMAHA - The Nebraska Impact 17 Select Banzai team narrowly missed winning the 17 Club Division at the Asics Presidents Day Classic on Feb. 19-21 at the Qwest Center in Omaha.
Banzai went 9-0 in the tournament before losing 19-25, 25-14, 15-13 to Tejas 17 Rox (10-0) in the finals. Banzai also went three sets 22-25, 25-23, 15-10 to defeat Platform Elite 17-1 in the tournament.
Team members are Angela Yee, Macey Danker, McKenna Zeller, Cassidy Yong, Jessie Mosby, Serena Yong, Jordan Nuffer, Olivia Roland, Whitney Kostal, Janaya Fox and Christin Williamsen.

COUNTDOWN TO RENO - Five teams to represent Nebraska in 15s at USAV Nationals beginning June 26RENO, NEV. – On June 26, the 15-year-old division will get underway at the USAV Nationals in Reno, Nev. on June 27.
Representing Nebraska are five teams – two in the OPEN Division, one in the National Division and two in the American Division.

RENO, NEV. - Opening day of the USAV Nationals is June 24 and it sees the 14-year-olds taking to the court.
Representing Nebraska are seven teams – three in the OPEN Division and two each in the American and National Divisions.
