Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star game rosters releasedThe Nebraska Coaches Association has finalized the rosters for the 2012 NCA All-Star Volleyball team.
The 29th annual all-star volleyball match will be played on Tuesday, July 24, at Lincoln North Star High School beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Prior to this season, an Omaha Public Schools team had never won a match at the state volleyball tournament.
Omaha Burke outside hitter Nicole Walker helped change that, leading the Class A runner-up Bulldogs to a 32-7 record and two tourney wins. That performance capped her senior year at Burke and landed her a spot on this year's All-Metro Conference squad.

OMAHA - Omaha Burke made good on one of its biggest volleyball goals of the season Wednesday night, qualifying for the state tournament.
The host Bulldogs will head back to state for the third consecutive year after defeating Kearney 25-13, 25-13, 25-21 in the District A-4 final. Third-ranked Burke boosted its record to 30-6 while the unranked Bearcats finish 20-14.

Omaha Marian will take another crack at top-ranked Papillion-La Vista South in the Metro Conference tournament final.
The third-ranked Crusaders advanced by defeating No. 2 Omaha Burke 25-19, 25-14 in semifinal action Wednesday at Papillion-La Vista. The undefeated Titans also moved on, defeating sixth-ranked Bellevue East 25-17, 25-23.

Senior Night lived up to its billing for the Lincoln Pius X volleyball team at Bishop Flavin Gym on Tuesday night.
In their final home match, the senior group comprising all-state middle blockers Cassie Effken and Lauren Smith, all-state outside hitter Scarlett Howerter, setter Allison Zastrow and libero Lea Sack all shined in the Class B No. 1 Thunderbolts' 25-21, 25-22, 25-13 victory against A No. 4 Omaha Burke.
