Cedar Rapids defeats Fullerton, North Loup-Scotia to start 2-0CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids swept North Loup-Scotia and Fullerton in its home triangular.
The Tigers opened with a 26-24, 25-21 win over North Loup-Scotia. Kelsey Martinsen led Cedar Rapids with six kills, Katie Rutten added 12 set assists and Tara Doughty had 10 digs. The Wildcats got three kills and eight set assists from Sarah Hansen.
Cedar Rapids then beat Fullerton 28-26, 25-16 behind Doughty’s 10 kills and 16 digs. Rutten added 12 set assists and eight digs. Ali Peregrine led Fullerton with 12 set assists and seven digs.
Ansley's Hoblyn wins 500th gameARCADIA — Ansley coach Pat Hoblyn recorded her 500th career win as Ansley defeated North Loup-Scotia 25-21, 25-18 and Arcadia 25-13, 25-15 to win the Arcadia Triangular Tuesday night in area high school volleyball action.
Chelsea Entz led Ansley (11-1) with 12 points, while Katie Drake added 11. Siera Rohde had 10 kills for the Warriors.
Entz added 14 points against Arcadia (1-5) and Taylor Rohde added 10.
Osceola wins quadrangular, improves to 6-0 on seasonOSCEOLA — Osceola went 3-0 to win its own quadrangular on Saturday to remain unbeaten on the season at 6-0.
The Bulldogs downed Rising City 25-15, 25-10 in their first match. Jenna Micek had five kills and Michelle Wilgoski served 16 points for Osceola.
Osceola then defeated North Loup-Scotia 25-14, 25-15. Micek and Katie Wilgoski had five kills each. Krista Hermsmeyer had five kills and three blocks for North Loup-Scotia.
Ansley goes 2-0 at Arcadia triangularAnsley 2, Arcadia 0
ARCADIA - Ansley swept Arcadia 25-13, 25-15 at the Arcadia Triangular.
Taylor Rhode had three ace blocks and two ace serves for Ansley. Chelsea Entz led the team with two kills and an ace serve.
