President's Day Tournament set to kickoff Saturday morning at CenturyLink CenterClick to download President's Day Preview Magazine.
OMAHA - The ninth annual Asics President's Day Tournament is set to begin on Saturday morning at the CenturyLink Century and Nebraska Elite Sports and Fitness Complex.
More than 4,000 girls from all over the United States are expected to participate this year, said Tony Carrow, who is the director of the tournament.

LINCOLN – Last year the Nebraska ONE 12s sizzled at the Asics President’s Day Classic going 6-0 and coming out on top of their 16-team division.
Many of the girls off Nebraska ONE Sizzle are back this year competing under the team name of Nebraska ONE Blaze in the 13s division.
“We have had one tournament so far this season,” second-year coach Kayla Schnuelle said. “We are a 13s team and played in the 14 Gold division at the Elite Classic in Omaha. We got 4th out of 12 teams, which was pretty good for our first tournament.”

Nebraska Elite 12 Kekoa finishes second in 12 Club DivisionOMAHA - The Nebraska Elite 12 Kekoa team made it to the finals of the 12 Club Division undefeated at the Asics Presidents Day Classic on Feb. 19-21 at the Qwest Center in Omaha.
In the finals, Kekoa met its match 25-19, 25-22 against Mizuno Northern Lights 121. To advance to the finals, Kekoa defeated Nebraska ONE 12 Synergy 14-25, 27-25, 17-15.
Members of Kekoa include Abbey Schiemann, Jessica Schlautman, Maygen Tangeman, Brooklyn Duren, Bailey Collins, Brooke Heyne, Allison Schomers, Averey Yaksich, Makenzi Kissman and Emma Walker.
Nebraska Elite 13 Thunder denies Nebraska ONE 13 Blaze second President's Day titleOMAHA - The Nebraska Elite 13 Thunder swept the competition in the 13 Club Division of the Asics Presidents Day Classic, including a pair of wins over 2010 champion Nebraska ONE 13 Blaze.
The Thunder defeated Blaze 25-23, 25-10 in pool play Sunday and then beat Blaze 25-17, 25-12 in the championship on Monday.
Members of Thunder are Xindi Chen, Katie Ruffalo, Callie Alberico, Sierra Strattan, Elena Melendez, Halie McArdle, Sara Kneifl, Mia Lahood, Dani Carlson and Elise Duryea.

RENO, NEV. - Opening day of the USAV Nationals is June 24 and it sees the 14-year-olds taking to the court.
Representing Nebraska are seven teams – three in the OPEN Division and two each in the American and National Divisions.
