Players selected for West All-Star Game at Scottsbluff on June 2SCOTTSBLUFF — Players have been selected for the East and West teams for the 28th-annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game. The 26 members of the volleyball teams were nominated by their respective high school coach and selected by the all-star coaches.

ALLIANCE - Despite having to play 10 sets of volleyball in 24 hours, the Mitchell volleyball team once again emerged victoriously Monday, earning a five-set win over top-seeded Chadron in the championship match of the Class C-1, Sub-district 12 Tournament at Alliance High School.
Mitchell won the first two sets, 25-14 and 25-20, but Chadron rallied to claim the next two sets, 25-18 and 25-14. In the final set, Mitchell prevailed 15-12.

MITCHELL - The Mitchell volleyball team equaled last year's win total, picking up its 21st and 22nd victories of the season in impressive fashion in the Mitchell Triangular on Tuesday evening.
The Tigers took care of Creek Valley in the opener 25-18, 25-13 behind a double-double from senior Andee Grentz, who had 13 kills and 10 digs. Mitchell then went on to dispose of Bayard 25-10, 25-9 behind Nicole Houston's 13 points and seven aces.
NebVolleyball/Jones Insurance Agency Inc. Oct. 10 Rankings Papillion-LaVista South was pushed to the brink of its first loss against St. James Academy in Lenexa, Kan. but survived. Columbus Scotus in C1 also was pushed but remained unbeaten. Lutheran High Northeast in C2 wasn't so lucky as Guardina Angels took down C2's last unbeaten. Gordon-Rushville twins Alicia and Alyssa Ostrander made their final time together on the volleyball court a memorable one as the sisters helped the West All-Stars post a thrilling five-set win over the East in the 25th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Match at Western Nebraska Community College on Saturday afternoon.
Alicia Ostrander, who is headed to Nebraska to play volleyball, led the West with 10 kills. She earned the West MVP honors after helping the West to a 25-18, 25-15, 23-25, 22-25, 15-3 win. It was the West’s sixth straight win over the East.
