After the week that was, it was probably a little amazing that the McCook High School volleyball team showed up to play at the McCook Invitational Saturday, Sept. 17.
The Bison suffered through several injuries in the week leading up to the annual home tournament. But McCook ended the tournament in fourth place and was competitive in two losses after losing arguably four of the top varsity players on the roster.

GRAND ISLAND Northwest took the momentum it gained during last weekend’s Beatrice Tournament and kept right on rolling Thursday night in a home triangular.
The Vikings opened with a 25-12, 25-6 victory over McCook and then defeated Holdrege 25-9, 25-9 in the night’s final match, improving to 8-1 on the season.

NORTH PLATTE - The North Platte girls' took to the floor Tuesday night, looking to build some momentum, as they trek through the final matches on their schedule.
With only four regular season scheduled games to play, along with the GNAC tournament, left before districts, the Lady Bulldogs fine-tuned their game with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-18 victory over McCook.

CAMBRIDGE - If head coach Krystal Weber can figure out a way for her McCook volleyball team to quit making simple mistakes, the Bison girls will certainly be an improved team.
The Bison gained their second match win of the season Tuesday, Sept. 28, against Cozad at the Cambridge triangular meet played at the Cambridge High School gym. McCook topped the Haymakers in straight sets (25-23, 25-19), then loss to the host Trojans 25-18, 25-19.

HOLDREGE - The McCook High School volleyball team brought some positives despite losing all three matches at the Holdrege Invitational Saturday, Sept. 25.
The Bison girls opened the tournament against Class C-1 powerhouse Grand Island Central Catholic. McCook played well agains the top-ranked Crusaders in a 25-20, 25-18 loss.
