Bergan's Courtney Cook headlines Fremont Tribune All-Volleyball teamFREMONT - One of Courtney Cook’s biggest fans was her high school volleyball coach.
“Courtney really works hard at volleyball,” Bergan coach Sue Wewel said. “She had all those years of lessons and practicing four to six times a week. It didn’t come easy. She worked at it and I really appreciate that in an athlete. She has a true passion for the game.”
Havekost, Stollberg help Logan View to victory over Lyons-Decatur NortheastClick to view story on Fremont Tribune
The combined service of seniors Karli Havekost and Abby Stollberg were a big help as Logan View defeated Lyons-Decatur Northeast 25-15, 23-25, 27-25, 25-22 in high school volleyball Tuesday evening.
The two seniors combined for 28 of 32 from behind the line. Stollberg led with 14 points and Havekost finished with seven along with 10 kills. Junior Kali Einspahr added 13 points.
Lyons-Decatur sweeps Scribner-SnyderLyons-Decatur swept the Scribner-Snyder volleyball team Tuesday.
L-D won 25-17, 25-13, 25-18.
“The girls tried pretty hard in this game but things did not go our way,” S-S coach Candi Cronin said. “We know what we need to work on before Thursday’s games.”

Lyons-Decatur wins first Tekamah-Herman Invite title since 1996TEKAMAH -- Lyons-Decatur defeated Arlington 25-9, 25-22 Saturday afternoon to capture the Tekamah-Herman Volleyball Championship.
The win improves the Cougars to 9-2 and gives them their first T-H Invite title since 1996.
