CLARKSON — It took five sets, but the Patriots earned fifth place in conference.
The Clarkson/Leigh volleyball team defeated Humphrey St. Francis 20-25, 25-20, 22-25, 27-25, 15-6 Tuesday at home, to take fifth in the Cornhusker Conference Tournament.

POLK — The Bulldogs blocked their way to a pair of victories Tuesday at a triangular in Polk.
The Lindsay Holy Family volleyball team racked up a total of 50 blocks in wins over High Plains and St. Edward. The Bulldogs defeated the Storm 25-19, 25-18 and downed the Beavers 25-19, 24-26, 25-15. High Plains defeated St. Edward 22-25, 25-13, 25-16 in the other match.

HUMPHREY — The Flyers had to earn the first set, but they cruised the rest of the way.
The Humphrey St. Francis volleyball team edged Lindsay Holy Family 29-27 before sweeping the match by winning the next two sets 25-17, 25-14.
Liz Sjuts led the Flyers with 11 kills. Lexi Arlt had eight, and Tori Heinen had six. For Holy Family, Kaylee Jensen had 12 kills, while Taylor Bender and Ellie Kurtenbach each had two.

NEWMAN GROVE — This battle went to the Bulldogs.
The Lindsay Holy Family volleyball team edged Class D-1, No. 6 Newman Grove in five sets Thursday in Lindsay. The teams alternated winning sets, with Holy Family coming out on top 26-24, 16-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-11.

Cornhusker Conference All-Conference squad releasedCOLUMBUS -- Several area volleyball players were named to the Cornhusker Conference All-Conference first team and honorable mention lists.
From Clarkson, Summer Gall and KC Heimann were both named first team all-conference, while Kelsie Wiese and Hannah Pfeifer made the honorable mention list.
Humphrey High had Leann Osten and Alyssa Frauendorfer on the first team, while Terin Wemhoff and Amber Meyer were honorable mention, while Humphrey St. Francis’ Jennifer Wemhoff was named honorable mention.

High Plains goes 0-2 at Holy Family triangularLINDSAY -- The High Plains volleyball team went 0-2 Tuesday at the Lindsay Holy Family Triangular, losing 25-17, 12-25, 18-25 to Lindsay Holy Family and 21-25, 19-25 to St. Edward.
Against the Bulldogs, Nealey Hoffman led the way with seven kills and one block. Hannah Lott had nine set assists and Katelyn Shoup had three ace serves.
In dropping a match to St. Edward, Hoffman again led the way with eight kills and three blocks. Lott had 12 set assists and Kendra Samuelson, Lott and Hoffman each had two ace serves against the Beavers.
High Plains goes 2-0 at Holy Family triangularLINDSAY — High Plains won two matches at the Lindsay Holy Family Triangular with a 17-25, 25-12, 25-18 win over host Lindsay Holy Family and a 25-21, 25-19 win over St. Edward.
Nealey Hoffman led the Storm with seven kills and 13 digs against Lindsay Holy Family. Katelyn SHoup added three service aces, while Hannah Lott had nine set assists.
Hoffman (8) and Morgan VanHousen (5) combined for 13 kills against St. Edward. Hoffman and Melissa Sundberg added three ace blocks and Lott had 12 assists.
