LINCOLN - While Lincoln Southwest's focus Tuesday night was the Heartland Conference semifinal match against city rival Southeast, the fifth-ranked Silver Hawk volleyball team couldn't help but peek ahead slightly to Thursday's championship bout with No. 4 Grand Island.
"We had a couple bad starts in the first two sets, then we let up at the end (of the third set)," Southwest senior outside hitter Sarah Faubel said after the Hawks' 25-17, 25-17, 25-21 home triumph over Southeast.

LINCOLN - After Class A fifth-ranked Lincoln Southwest battled back from a 14-10 deficit in set one, the Silver Hawks rarely trailed the rest of the way in a 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 victory at rival Lincoln Southeast.
“It’s kind of typical of us, unfortunately,” Southwest coach Mary Schropfer said of the Silver Hawks’ slow start.
