COLUMBUS — No matter what the format, when it comes to volleyball, communication is key.
The Silver team took down the Green team in four sets Thursday during the 21st annual Central Community College/Columbus Telegram All-Star Volleyball Match, winning 25-12, 25-20, 18-25 and 25-21, and talked throughout the match to take the win.

Humphrey goes 2-0 at triangular with Leigh, High PlainsHUMPHREY — The Leigh volleyball team split a pair of games Thursday at a triangular in Humphrey, beating High Plains 25-15, 25-11 before losing 25-16, 25-7 to Humphrey.
Against the Storm, Adrian Bruhn had eight kills and Brooke Jindra added five. Brooke Wiese had 23 set assists, and Morgan Bruhn had nine digs. High Plains was led by Nealey Hoffman, who had two kills, two ace serves and six digs.
Things were tougher against the Bulldogs, with Adrian Bruhn coming away with four kills, Wiese having 10 assists and Morgan Bruhn finished with four digs. Alyssa Frauendorfer had eight kills, six blocks and seven digs for Humphrey, while Alex Wallin had 14 assists and Megan Kallweit had three ace serves.
Cornhusker Conference All-Conference squad releasedCOLUMBUS -- Several area volleyball players were named to the Cornhusker Conference All-Conference first team and honorable mention lists.
From Clarkson, Summer Gall and KC Heimann were both named first team all-conference, while Kelsie Wiese and Hannah Pfeifer made the honorable mention list.
Humphrey High had Leann Osten and Alyssa Frauendorfer on the first team, while Terin Wemhoff and Amber Meyer were honorable mention, while Humphrey St. Francis’ Jennifer Wemhoff was named honorable mention.
Bruhn, Kenning headed to Concordia UniversitySEWARD - Angela Bruhn of Leigh High School and Allie Kenning of Thayer Central are among head coach Rachel Miller's 2009 recruiting class at Concordia University.

Humphrey St. Francis sweeps LeighLEIGH — The Humphrey St. Francis volleyball team emerged victorious against Leigh, winning 25-15, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23 Thursday.
Jennifer Wemhoff had 13 kills to lead the Flyers, and Liz Sjuts added seven. Brandy Reichmuth had 30 set assists, Sjuts had a team-high four blocks and Tori Heinen had 29 digs.
The Panthers had a big performance from Adrian Bruhn, who had 22 kills in the match. Brooke Wiese had 39 assists and Steph McMullin had two blocks. Adrian Bruhn also had three ace serves, while Morgan Bruhn had a team-high 21 digs.
Leigh splits matches with Dodge, Spalding/Spalding AcademyLEIGH — The Leigh volleyball team split a pair of matches at its home triangular Tuesday, defeating Spalding/Spalding Academy 25-22, 20-25, 25-23 before losing 25-23, 14-25, 25-12 to Class D-2, No. 9 Dodge.
Adrian Bruhn had a solid match, with 27 kills. Brooke Jindra and Jasmine Osten each added 10. Brooke Wiese had 54 set assists to go with four ace serves and 22 digs, while Jindra had nine blocks. Morgan Bruhn had 25 digs to lead the team.
Leigh moves on to host its home invite Saturday.
Clarkson sweeps LeighCLARKSON — Despite wavering in the second set, the Clarkson volleyball team swept Leigh 25-13, 28-26, 25-18 Tuesday.
After winning in convincing fashion in the first set, the Red Devils were taken to the limit in the second set, but still came away with the set and then cruised in the third for the sweep.
Adrian Bruhn had 13 kills and 12 digs for the Panthers, while Brooke Wiese had 23 assists. Clarkson was led by KC Heimann’s 25 assists, four ace serves and two blocks, and Summer Gall had 13 kills and four blocks.
