1984 Hayes Center volleyball team to be inducted into Nebraska Sports Hall of FameRead story in Scottsbluff Star-Herald
This year’s Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame class will have a local flavor to it when the foundation hosts its 16th induction ceremony on Sunday at the Lied Center in Lincoln.
Joining the Hall of Fame as part of this year’s class will be former Kimball High School football coach Keith Staehr and Scottsbluff’s Jodi Benson. Staehr compiled a 187-119-1 record at Kimball before retiring after the 2000 season. Benson, who is the principal at Lincoln Heights Elementary School, is being inducted as part of Hayes Center’s silver anniversary team that earned a state runner-up finish in volleyball in 1984 and won state championships in basketball and track and field in 1985.
