Players selected for West All-Star Game at Scottsbluff on June 2SCOTTSBLUFF — Players have been selected for the East and West teams for the 28th-annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game. The 26 members of the volleyball teams were nominated by their respective high school coach and selected by the all-star coaches.

The volleyball coaches have been selected to lead the West and East teams for the 28th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game. This year’s game will be played Saturday, June 2 in Scottsbluff at Cougar Palace on the campus of Western Nebraska Community College. Game time is set for 2 p.m. MDT.
Veteran volleyball coach Craig Schadwinkel from Gering High School has been selected as the Head Coach for the West. This is Coach Schadwinkel’s second time coaching in the All Star Game. He previously served as the assistant coach for the West in 1986.

The Gering volleyball team came into this season with the motto, “Leaving a Legacy.”
Thanks to the solid leadership and steady play of eight seniors, the Bulldogs did indeed have a season to remember.

Gering, Sidney advance to B-6 final OGALLALA - The Gering and Sidney volleyball teams advanced to the championship match of the Class B, District 6 Tournament with semifinal wins on Tuesday night in Ogallala.
Gering, the tournament's top seed and defending champion, overcame a pesky Alliance squad 26-24, 20-25, 25-11, 25-16. Alliance advanced to the semifinals after beating McCook in five sets.

SIDNEY - The Gering volleyball team stayed on a roll Tuesday night, registering its eighth straight win with a 26-28, 25-22, 25-16, 25-17 victory over Sidney.
The win helped Gering gain a little redemption against the Red Raiders, who defeated the Bulldogs in two sets in their previous meeting Sept. 22 at Sidney.

SIDNEY - In Craig Schadwinkel's 27 years as a volleyball coach at Gering High School, his Bulldog teams have accomplished just about everything.
But on Saturday in Sidney, this year's squad became Schadwinkel's first to win the championship of the Western Conference Tournament four straight times.
