Twin River improves to 5-2 with win over FullertonFULLERTON — The Twin River Titans made quick work of Fullerton Thursday, winning in straight sets.
Brittany Klassen led the team’s attack with 10 kills and four aces. She also stood tall at the net with five blocks. Teammate Kylie Gee added four.
Twin River travels Saturday to the Stanton Invite. The Fullerton Warriors are off until Tuesday, when they face Centura.
Twin River goes 2-0 at triangularGENOA — Twin River captured wins over Friend and Fullerton.
The Titans (12-8) bested Friend 25-17, 25-13 behind Brittany Klassen’s eight kills and three blocks. Kirsten Cromwell added five kills, four blocks and three ace serves, while Jackie Bosak added 20 assists.
Twin River defeated Fullerton (3-17) 25-7, 25-11 as Brooke Peterson (7), Cromwell (6) and Klassen (6) combined for 19 kills, while Bosak dished out 21 assists.
Centura defeats Fullerton to improve to 4-8FULLERTON — Centura defeated Fullerton 25-20, 25-13, 25-17 in area volleyball action.
Melissa Voichahoske had seven kills and six blocks for the Warriors (1-6). Tawni Hellbusch added three kills and five blocks, while Sara Santin had three blocks, Nicky Frenzen had four kills and Ali Peregrine had 10 assists for Fullerton (1-6).
No statistics were reported for Centura (4-8).
High Plains defeats Fullerton to remain unbeatenFULLERTON — High Plains downed host Fullerton (1-2) in straight sets 25-22, 25-22, 25-14.
Nealey Hoffman led the Storm (3-0) with six kills, eight digs and 10 service aces, Alison Anderson added eight digs, three kills, three ace serves and three ace blocks.
Sophie Hellbusch paced the Warriors with two kills, two blocks and three digs.
High Plains defeats Fullerton to improve to 1-1POLK — High Plains (1-1) notched its first win of the season with a 25-17, 25-15, 25-12 straight-set win over visiting Fullerton.
Nealey Hoffman paced the Storm with seven kills, five aces, four ace blocks and 10 digs. Melissa Sundberg added five kills and six digs, while Hannah Lott dished out 17 assists.
No statistics were made available for Fullerton (1-2).
Cedar Rapids defeats Fullerton, North Loup-Scotia to start 2-0CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids swept North Loup-Scotia and Fullerton in its home triangular.
The Tigers opened with a 26-24, 25-21 win over North Loup-Scotia. Kelsey Martinsen led Cedar Rapids with six kills, Katie Rutten added 12 set assists and Tara Doughty had 10 digs. The Wildcats got three kills and eight set assists from Sarah Hansen.
Cedar Rapids then beat Fullerton 28-26, 25-16 behind Doughty’s 10 kills and 16 digs. Rutten added 12 set assists and eight digs. Ali Peregrine led Fullerton with 12 set assists and seven digs.
Twin River defeats Fullerton in four setsGENOA - The Twin River volleyball team earned a 25-17, 23-25, 25-7, 25-13 victory over Fullerton Thursday in Genoa.
Despite dropping the second set, the Titans rebounded to take the third easily and fourth for the victory.
Kristen Cromwell and Valerie Vitek led Twin River with nine kills each, while Jackie Bosak had 26 set assists and 10 digs.

BURWELL — Chambers/Wheeler Central (12-9) came storming back after dropping the first set to defeat Burwell (12-5) 17-25, 25-20, 25-19, 26-24.
