GRAND ISLAND - There is no better time to play your best volleyball than in the postseason.
Centura took that to heart against Shelton in the Class C-2, Subdistrict 10 tournament Monday at Grand Island Central Catholic. The Centurions came out strong and never really let up in surprising the Bulldogs 25-21, 25-16, 27-25 win to advance to the subdistrict finals.

"This has to be the best we have played all season," Centura coach Heather Ferralez said. "We all haven't really been on all season until tonight. It was good for us. When you are at this point of the season, records don't matter."

BROKEN BOW - The Doniphan-Trumbull volleyball team ended its six-match losing streak with a victory over Gothenburg at the Broken Bow Tournament last Thursday.

DONIPHAN — It’s what you do when you get knocked down — you pick yourself up and start climbing that mountain again.

Kearney Catholic, admittedly smarting a bit from Tuesday night’s loss to Grand Island Central Catholic, went back to work Thursday as it faced Doniphan-Trumbull and Ord in a triangular meet. And it was the Stars who walked away with a pair of hard-won victories, as they defeated Ord 25-7, 25-20, then came back to hold off the Cardinals 25-12, 25-18. Ord took the opener as it defeated D-T 25-19, 22-25, 25-19.

RAVENNA - The Doniphan-Trumbull volleyball team defeated Ravenna 26-24, 31-29, 27-29, 22-25, 15-11 in a closely-contest match on Tuesday in Ravenna.

HASTINGS - The Doniphan-Trumbull volleyball team fell to 8-8 on the season with a 1-2 showing at the Adams Central Tournament on Saturday.
