Concordia defeats College ViewConcordia defeated College View 25-17, 25-23, 25-23 in high school volleyball action Thursday night.
Fremont native Arianne Gesell led Concordia with eight kills on a .500 hitting efficiency. She also chipped in 20 digs and four blocks in the match.

Outlook: Schwartz-Culwell, the former standout Nebraska libero/defensive specialist and Lincoln East Super-Stater, makes her coaching debut Thursday in a triangular against Class C-1 No. 1 Grand Island Central Catholic and C-1 No. 5 Hastings St. Cecilia. The Crusaders suffered significant graduation losses, but return a terminating force at the net in Andersen.

MARION, Ind. -- Brianne Gutknecht, a 5-8 transfer outside hitter and defensive specialist, has committed to be a part of the Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team for the 2010 season.
Gutknecht graduated from College View Academy in Lincoln, Nebraska, lettering two years in volleyball (one at Lincoln Southeast High School), including her senior year when she was second team all-conference. She also lettered in basketball, tennis and golf. She was first team all-conference her senior year in basketball and went to the state tennis tournament her junior year.
Cedar Bluff fights back to defeat College View AcademyLINCOLN - Cedar Bluffs recovered from a slow start to defeat College View Academy 19-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22 in volleyball action Thursday night.
"I thought we started out slow and not as mentally prepared as I would’ve liked to see," Cedar Bluffs coach Janelle Stansberry said. "We had way too many unforced errors in the first set, but they rebounded well and got their focus back. They took care of business in the other three sets."
