Wheeler Central/Chambers defeats Stuart, Clearwater/OrchardBARTLETT — Chambers-Wheeler Central won two opening-night matches as the Renegades defeated Stuart 25-18, 25-19, and downed Clearwater/Orchard 25-16, 25-21.
Kelsey Owen (7), Erin DeVries (7), and Laura Tomjack (6) combined for 20 kills for the Renegades against Stuart, while Owen led CWC with nine kills and five digs against Clearwater/Orchard. Megan Hoffman tallied 16 assists against Clearwater/Orchard.
Kristi Allen hired as new varsity coach at Blue HillBLUE HILL - A longtime fixture of the Blue Hill Junior High volleyball program will be moving up to the varsity level in the fall.
Kristi Allen was named the new Blue Hill head volleyball coach in March, replacing Cindy Steinkrueger.
Allen has been the head junior high volleyball coach at Blue Hill for the past 15 years.
