BURWELL - Heartland Lutheran dropped two matches at the Burwell Triangular.
The Red Hornets opened with a 25-14, 25-13 loss to Burwell. Beth Hollman had four kills for Heartland Lutheran while Lauren Staehr and Lyndsay Rathke had two each.
Katie McClintic had 16 points for Burwell while, Kaitlin Garner had 10 kills, Miranda Maxon 19 set assists and MacKenna Brunken 10 digs.

Sept. 9 Game SummariesAnsley def. Elba/NL- Scotia
ANSLEY — Kara Ostrand (18) and Siera Rohde (16) combined for 34 service points to lead undefeated Ansley to a 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 victory over Elba/North Loup-Scotia (0-3).
Rohde led the Warriors (6-0) with 11 kills and five ace blocks.

CHADRON – Five volleyball players have recently signed National Letters of Intent to continue their careers at Chadron State College, first-year head coach Natasha Marquis announced.
Kelsey Christian, Anthonya Schaffert, Erika Roybal and Michaela Schmitt are incoming freshmen, while Ashley McMullen joins the Eagles after playing a season at Colby Community College.

Palmer goes 2-0 at triangularPALMER — Palmer won its own triangular with straight-set wins over Burwell and Heartland Lutheran.
The Tigers (11-1) prevailed over Burwell 25-9, 25-10 with Palmer’s Shelbea Mamot accounting for 14 points and seven digs. Sarah Mamot added nine points, Shayla Wichmann had seven points and four kills, Chloe Wichman had six kills and seven digs and Sydney Roepker had four kills and five digs.
Ashley McMullen led Burwell with four kills.

GRAND ISLAND - Serving was Palmer’s best friend in the Heartland Lutheran Triangular.
The Class D-1, No. 8 Tigers served up a total of 28 ace serves in taking two matches Tuesday.
Burwell defeats St. Edward in four sets for first victoryBURWELL — Burwell rallied from a one-set deficit to post a 19-25, 25-11, 25-10, 25-17 victory over visiting St. Edward.
The Longhorns (1-2) were led by Megan Nelson with 22 service points, Rochelle Plock with 14 service aces, Miranda Maxson with 29 set assists and Katie McClintick with 10 kills.
