LINCOLN — Emily Wilson sat out the fourth set Tuesday night hoping her teammates would end the Nebraska Coaches Association all-star volleyball match.
But when the match went to the fifth set, the Missouri recruit from Omaha Gross was excited to get some extra playing time with Creighton recruit and club teammate Michelle Sicner from Millard North.

There's been a challenge at every turn this season for Bishop Neumann all-state girls basketball player Alyssa Stanek.
The 6-foot-1 senior center twice has had the flu. The first time, the week leading up to the season-opening game, landed her in the hospital for dehydration.

Wahoo Neumann volleyball opponents were well aware of Alyssa Stanek's power as a hitter, but her versatility helped the Cavaliers succeed.
"Alyssa is a great athlete that just wants her team to have success even if all eyes are on her," Neumann coach Shelly Hagemann said. "She would find other ways of putting the ball away in the front row like tipping to the open spot or a roll shot to the corners to keep defenses off-balance. Every team was keying on the hard hit so she just changed her tempo and made the defense move."

“Courtney really works hard at volleyball,” Bergan coach Sue Wewel said. “She had all those years of lessons and practicing four to six times a week. It didn’t come easy. She worked at it and I really appreciate that in an athlete. She has a true passion for the game.”
Wisner-Pilger rebounds from first-set loss to defeat Neumann in district finalFREMONT - After getting off to a slow start, Wisner-Pilger got rolling in the second game and never looked back in defeating Wahoo Neumann 19-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-18 in the C1-3 district volleyball final Friday night at Fremont High School.
Both teams played even halfway through the first game before Neumann went on a 9-2 run to put it away.

MALCOLM -- The high school volleyball careers of seven Wahoo Neumann seniors appeared to be nearing an end Tuesday night.
Wahoo won the first two games of the Class C1-5 subdistrict championship match, including a 10-point win in the second set thanks to an 18-4 game-ending run.
