Nebraska natives help several teams make NCAA Volleyball TournamentWhen the NCAA Div. I Volleyball Tournament gets underway on Thursday and Friday across the country, the state of Nebraska will be well represented on the rosters of the teams that made it.
The home-state University of Nebraska-Lincoln volleyball team boasts eight Nebraska natives on its roster, but there are also at least 14 other native Nebraskans on other team's rosters that made the tournament.
Of these 22 Division I players, they hail for 20 different Nebraska high schools.
Kappas reaches 800 wins, GI's Root going for 600th tonight against North PlatteMillard South's Joanne Kappas became the third coach in Nebraska High School history to reach 800 victories as Millard South went 2-1 on Monday in the Metro Conference Tournament.

NebVolleyball/Jones Insurance Agency Inc. Oct. 10 Rankings Papillion-LaVista South was pushed to the brink of its first loss against St. James Academy in Lenexa, Kan. but survived. Columbus Scotus in C1 also was pushed but remained unbeaten. Lutheran High Northeast in C2 wasn't so lucky as Guardina Angels took down C2's last unbeaten. Gradoville Tournament to be held at Bryan on Friday and SaturdayThe Phil Gradoville Invitational at Omaha Bryan High School wil be played Friday and Saturday.
Plattsmouth, Bellevue West Omaha Burke and Omaha Northwest will be in Pool A. Omaha Benson, Omaha Bryan, Omaha North and Omaha South will be in Pool B. Admission will be $6 for adults and $4 for students.

Strong field planned for Bellevue InvitationalThe annual Bellevue Invitational Volleyball Tournament will be held Sept. 2 and 3 at Bellevue West High School. Pool Play will take place on Friday, Sept. 2nd, beginning at 4:00. All pool play will be at Bellevue West High School. The top eight teams will play in the championship bracket in the South gym at Bellevue West beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3rd and the bottom eight teams will play in a consolation bracket tournament in the North gym at Bellevue West, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

COLUMBIA — In the summer of 2004, Tatum Anderson was ready for a relaxing June and July at home in Nebraska. The Missouri volleyball team had recruited Anderson, then Tatum Ailes, out of Bellevue West High School, but she was not expected to join the team until August.

COLUMBIA – Rock Bridge has named former Mizzou libero Tatum Anderson as head volleyball coach.
Anderson replaces Vicki Reimler, who coached the Bruins from 1982 to 2002 and came out of retirement in 2010 to lead Rock Bridge to its first district championship in 25 years. Reimler resumed her retirement following the 2010 season.
