LOOMIS — Molly Weissert towed the back line and served the final 10 points for Elwood in Set 1 of the Pirates’ 25-12, 25-10 victory over S-E-M Monday at the Fort Kearny Conference Volleyball Tournament.
“The key was just keeping our serves in,” Elwood coach Codina Shutz said about what was integral in the win.
Ansley hangs on to defeat Amherst in five setsAMHERST — Ansley outlasted Amherst (9-4) 25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 15-11 in a five-set match.
Taylor Rohde (22), Melissa Gestwite (21) and Chelsea Entz (20) combined for 63 service points for the Warriors (14-1). Siera Rohde had 15 kills, while Taylor Rohde added 10 kills and five ace blocks.
Elm Creek wins Amherst Tournament over Anselmo-MernaElm Creek 2, Anselmo-Merna 0
AMHERST - Elm Creek got the win over Anselmo-Merna 25-23, 25-20 in the championship match of the Amherst Tournament.
Kim Ourada had five kills and one ace serve for Elm Creek. Aisha Bourke compiled seven assists and nine digs.

AMHERST- There is always an upside to playing a team that hasn’t won a game all season long.
For Elwood, it was a good way to get their game back on track.
The Lady Pirates continued their climb back into the thick of things of the conference as Elwood brought their record back to .500, with a straight-set beat down of the Amherst Broncos Wednesday night.
