Alma's Waggoner, GICC's McGowan sign with UNKearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney volleyball head coach Rick Squiers today announced the names of four high school seniors who will join the Lopers next year.
They are outside hitter Amanda Bloom (Littleton, Colo./Columbine H.S.), outside hitter/libero Liz McGowan (Grand Island, Neb./G.I. Central Catholic H.S), outside hitter/libero Molly O’Brien (Overland Park, Kan./St. James Academy H.S.) and outside hitter Lauren Waggoner (Alma, Neb./Alma H.S.).
“We’re very excited about the 2011 recruiting class as we have addressed some very important short and long term needs for UNK volleyball. And, in addition to their demonstrated volleyball abilities, they are team orientated, competitive and successful in the classroom,” said Squiers. “They are a great compliment to the group we’ll have returning."
Wilcox-Hildreth falls to Alma in straight-setsWILCOX — Alma swept Wilcox-Hildreth 25-22, 25-15, 25-18 Tuesday in Wilcox.
Michaela Hinrichs tallied 10 kills, while Morgan Farley had eight kills and Jana Wilson had 19 set assists for Wilcox-Hildreth.
